A New Year, Season, And Day

A new year starts a new season in your life. There are new opportunities and new possibilities. This also reminds us that we need to forget last year and focus on the moment at hand. A sports team has to do this every year.  Recruits replace those who have left.  So each year has new challenges and possibilities.

I have never thought much about New Year resolutions. However, it always is a good idea to resolve to be a better person as each year or day passes. We want to put our best foot forward and make the most of every opportunity God and life lay before us. God does call us to be wise stewards or managers of every area of our lives. As representatives of Christ, we should strive for excellence in every area of our lives and not only the spiritual aspect of life. We can not move forward with a bad attitude.     

James 4:13-15 mentions people who are boasting about their plans for the new year. However, they should say if the Lord wills, we will do this or that.  We need to talk to the one who created us about His plans and purposes in our lives. Take time to pray about the direction of your life and include God in your plans. His plans are better than ours.  Turn it over to Him. May God richly bless you and thank God that He has justified us freely by His grace. See Romans 3:23-24.  Keep your mind and heart focused on Christ so the struggles of this life will not get you too down. Peace to you from God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
