It Is Time For The Church To Pray

If you have not noticed, the world seems to be falling apart. I am so glad that the church is praying.  One particular scripture that came to mind this week is 2 Chronicles 7:14  that states 

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  NKJV 

We need to be humble and honest before God and ask Him to forgive our sins and turn from them. People of God listen. We have the assurance of God's love, and He will hear our prayers and forgive our sins.  There also is a promise of healing in this passage that applies to us and those we have hurt. 

This passage applies to our personal lives as well as the world and its problems.  One issue that usually does not come up is global warming.  I watched a documentary describing the effects of global warming. Rivers are drying up, and it's causing all sorts of problems for the animals and environment.  Many of our natural resources that support life are dwindling. 

Science has been working hard to find solutions to the problems of global warming. We as the church need to pray for our world in this way too. God has the power to make a river in the desert. Isaiah 43:19-21 NKJV

Let us all agree in prayer for our country.  Lord, thank you for your mercy in these matters.  Thank you for helping us as a people to honor you and forgive us when we have fallen short.  Empower us by your Holy Spirit to take the High road, the road that brings honor to you.  Save our country and world as only you can.  Make that river in the desert and show us what we can do as well.
